So many people across this county and the West Midlands are very conscious of just how much damage we are doing to our environment. We are so lucky here to still have a beautiful environment that has managed to sustain much less environmental damage than the other counties across the UK and, indeed, the world.
The Hereford bypass is just one of the current planned infrastructures that will continue our devastation of environment and our continued increase of carbon emissions. Government policy is, in fact, in favour of active and environmentally friendly transport solutions and many other solutions to reduce carbon and improve our environment. However, they are persistently failing to enforce these policies and instead are investing in infrastructures and businesses that will continue the devastation of our environment.
Many of us are too far away and too busy to travel to London to make our voices heard. Besides, how many more emissions do we cause by travelling so far?
So, inspired by a 12 year old girl from Sweden, a special march has been organised in Hereford so that we can make our voices heard in this region. This is part of a rapidly growing International Campaign called Rise for Climate.
Please get there if you can. Let us know if you would like to speak -young or old.
Please feel free to bring a sign or banner, play music or do anything else creative to bring attention to what you want to be heard.
Here is a fun short video to inspire you:
Let us know if you need help with transport to get there.
All across Europe policies on environment and climate change have changed in rural and city areas because the people came out and made their voices. This is 2 hours out of your day.
Let’s make our voice as loud and powerful as possible.
March against plastic
March against pollution
March against fracking
March for our farming, our rivers, our trees
March for sustainable transport
March for our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren
Whatever your passion is - March!
