The new Herefordshire Alliance Council is scheduled to make its first big decision about the ‘bypass’ and the Southern Link Road by July 25th. They campaigned on a mandate of sustainable transport and stopping the Western Bypass. We are hoping for good news.
This is a new council and they need as much support from us as possible so they can be strong. This will enable them to do the right thing by the people of this county.
Despite what we might think about them stopping the ‘bypass’, we still need to keep pressure on and ensure that they do keep their promises. They will be having pressure put upon them by those people who are still trying to save the ‘bypass’ and spreading false claims about the benefits that this road might bring.
We voted them in, so please can we all turn up at the next Cabinet Meeting at 6.30pm on July 25th to show our solidarity and support for David Hitchiner, John Harrington and the rest of this new team. The ‘bypass’ is not on the agenda, but many questions have been submitted about it and it will be discussed. The announcement will also be made and hopefully we will have an opportunity to cheer!
