Lovely choice for Llangarron!
Maggie Setterfield, a busy Mum and a full time school librarian and receptionist is standing for the Green Party in Llangarron (Llangarron, Welsh Newton, Sellack, etc.). Maggie is one of the candidates who is part of the Herefordshire Alliance. Maggie is fully committed to doing her very best for our environment, health, farming and economy. She wants to use scientific and economically viable approaches that are practical for normal families and businesses.
“As the Green Party candidate for Llangarron, endorsed by Its Our County, I offer the democratic alternative to the Conservatives. Given the opportunity I will work with IoC and Independents to restore a committee-based decision-making process, greater accountability and transparency in a balanced administration.”
Born in Ross and raised in Hereford, she qualified as a social worker and has knowledge and experience in mental health, special needs and education. She understands the needs of older people and their carers from personal and professional experience.
Maggie already does an enormous amount of work to help local people, and has been recognised for some of her efforts:
“I am actively involved in community groups and practical initiatives including Hereford Community Land Trust and a community garden project based in an area of social housing. I am a locality Tree Warden and Co-ordinator and first aid trainer for the Duke of Edinburgh Award….. I was proud to receive an award for promoting the use of washable nappies.”
