Two days to Stop the Bypass - 41 people need your support!
Postal Voting opens on Wednesday April 17th. Around 75% of Postal Voters actually vote. This compares with only around 30% of voters who turn up to vote at voting stations. So, these votes are really important and it is vital that these people get to know about the best people to vote for in the coming elections.
Please help your local candidate in any way you can!
The best chance of stopping the bypass is to get a new County Council -one that cares about our environment, health and economy. Failure to act now will result in us fighting the Bypass for years to come. We have identified 41 people in 41 wards who are against the bypass and who will work for sustainable transport throughout the county. The new Herefordshire Alliance gives us even more hope that this plan will work.
Herefordshire County Council Elections: Who to Vote for - Click Here
As promised, we have been keeping a very close eye on who is standing for election for Herefordshire County Council on May 2nd 2019.
We have checked everyone out and can tell you that the people listed below are genuinely interested in our environment, stopping the ‘Bypass’ and working for a sustainable and good economic future for all of us all over the county.
We know you are all really fed up about what’s happening with Brexit and many of you may be planning not to vote, or to spoil your vote. We understand. Our view is that to vote for Green, It’s Our County, Labour or one of the Independent candidates is a much stronger message to local and national politicians, parties and government.
If the Herefordshire Alliance gets in, the people in charge at national level and those who have been in charge for far too long at local level, have to sit up and pay attention.
So, let’s give them a really, really, really strong message!
· No to the Western ‘Bypass’!
· No to Climate Change!
· No more feudal politics!
Please get in touch with your local candidate and offer to help in any way you can. Even if you only have 1 hour to post leaflets or talk about them in the village shop in the next few weeks, it is vital that they have your support. Everyone, of all ages can help here. Pick up the phone. Email your friends and share this list. Go for a walk and talk to anyone you meet. Just keep talking about your candidate over the next few weeks!
Put up a poster. You will likely get a leaflet, but you can make your own poster, or email the candidate or us and we will get a poster for you to print off.
Over the coming weeks, we will post their leaflets online so you can share them.
This is our best chance of stopping the ‘Bypass’ and our best chance of making significant system change. Like charity, climate action begins at home!
